Honouring the legacy of Madam Ellen Euphemia Degbato-Senaye through inclusive education and compassionate action.
September 2026 – Krowor South Enclave
In Ghana, the government provides free daily meals to students in public basic schools a vital step toward fighting hunger and supporting education. But there's a gap: many of these children have no bowls or plates of their own to eat those meals with.
That's where the EED Foundation steps in. With the One Child, One Bowl Project, we aim to put a proper bowl into the hands of every student in the Krowor South Enclave. Because a meal is only as good as the means to enjoy it. By providing a simple, dignified tool for eating, we help ensure that no child has to wait, share, or go without during lunchtime.
One meal. One bowl. One child at a time.
The EED Foundation is a distinguished social corporate organization established in honour of the late and esteemed educationist, Madam Ellen Euphemia Degbato-Senaye, whose legacy of intellectual excellence and unwavering commitment to education continues to inspire its mission.
The Foundation is devoted to the identification and thoughtful resolution of persistent and emerging challenges within and around school environments, challenges which impede effective learning. In alignment with the principles of Sustainable Development Goal 4, the Foundation strives to promote inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
Furthermore, the Foundation is committed to addressing critical educational gaps through the following initiatives:
SESA Edu. Solutions — Our subsidiary dedicated to the professional development of educators. Through this arm, teachers are equipped with the requisite values, skills, and knowledge necessary to nurture the Ghanaian child holistically, ultimately cultivating lifelong learners.
To cultivate an inclusive and equitable educational landscape in which every child, irrespective of circumstance or ability, is empowered to realise their fullest potential and thrive as a lifelong learner.
To identify and address systemic and emerging barriers within the educational environment by providing holistic support to learners—particularly those with special needs and chronic health conditions—while advancing inclusive practices, strengthening teacher capacity, and promoting equitable access to quality education in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4.
Madam Ellen Euphemia Degbato-Senaye was a distinguished Ghanaian educationist whose life was marked by devoted service to God and country. Renowned for her unwavering commitment to the advancement of education, she demonstrated profound compassion for the Ghanaian school child throughout her career and beyond.
Even in retirement, she remained deeply invested in the welfare of learners, often going to extraordinary lengths to support disadvantaged families—advocating for school admissions, preparing formal appeals, and personally providing essential educational materials such as uniforms, trunks, and other necessities to ensure that no child was deprived of the opportunity to learn. Notably, these acts of benevolence predated the introduction of the Free Senior High School policy under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Why was this Legacy Foundation established in her memory?
The EED Foundation was established in late 2023 as a lasting tribute to Madam Degbato-Senaye's remarkable legacy. It seeks to honour and perpetuate her lifelong dedication to education, her compassion for underserved learners, and her steadfast belief in equitable access to quality education. Through its initiatives, the Foundation continues to embody her values by addressing educational challenges and uplifting learners across diverse backgrounds.
Be part of the legacy. Support inclusive education and honour Madam Degbato-Senaye's vision.
